What are dental lasers?
Lasers are medical devices that utilise powerful beams of light to cut, seal and disinfect soft tissue. They reduce inflammation and accelerate healing. Laser stands for ‘Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation’.
How do lasers work?
Lasers are a stream of focused ‘photons’ that have high energy potential. Lasers were first used in the 1980’s, and since then have revolutionised the way the medical world offers treatment due to their versatility and effectiveness.
What are the benefits of dental lasers?
Dental lasers allow for quicker healing, reduced inflammation and pain, and dramatically reduce bleeding by coagulating blood vessels during the procedure.
